#23 - Create a Fruit Friend by Sarah M
This is a good mate of mine, Captain Beauregarde. He sails the seven seas in his pirate ship, The Granny Smith, terrorizing all who stand in his way. He pillages, he plunders, he gets drunk and has hot sex with the local barmaid. Basically a well-rounded pirate.

He is made from:

  • An apple
  • White paint and black vivid for his face
  • A black paper eyepatch
  • A paper pirate hat which I made from scratch *is proud*
  • Okay, this is where it gets weird. His hair is actually real hair which I cut off my dog. Lucy may have a bald spot now, but at least Cap'n Bo has a full head of hair (and manly sideburns). Lucy reckons this deserves bonus points. I agree.
  • And his little sign is made from tinted paper burned around the edges.

definately
oh yes, definitely plenty of uberness points!
if i were a judge(which i'm not (yet neway)) this is how i'd mark you (to other people, these are not real points since i'm not(yet) a judge)

creativity: 4/5- good art, good ideas, good backstory, but minus a point for it being a pirate instead of a ninja(i can be biased since i ent a judge)
difficulty: 2/5- this doesn't really look that difficult, cept for the hat
methodology: 3/5- very nicely done, good use of hair and white paint, but since we dont know much about your actual method...
biggiosity: 1/5- no real exposure....if you had taken it for a photo shoot out around town, or even sailing on the ocean(your tub) you'd have gotten like, 2-3 extra points here
uberosity: 6/10- well done for the buzzcut on the dog, but you gotta take responsibility if your dog goes bald early. also bonus points for the intro sign^^.

We have a new marker! Jonathan has been appointed marker #3 due to his uncurbed (and some might say crazy) enthusiasm. See, it's even nice and official on our shiny profile page: http://community.livejournal.com/do_the_101/profile
I'm not sure how many people will read this, but if you do... prepare to be MARKED (now by either me or nick or jon)!

ok, since i'm now nice and shiny(thanks sarah) my marks now mean something!(yay) so, for my first marks, they'll pretty much be as above, but a small change:

creativity: 4/5- good art, good ideas, good backstory, pretty much all round awesome
difficulty: 2/5- this doesn't really look that difficult, cept for the hat
methodology: 3/5- very nicely done, good use of hair and white paint, but since we dont know much about your actual method...
biggiosity: 1/5- no real exposure....if you had taken it for a photo shoot out around town, or even sailing on the ocean(your tub) you'd have gotten like, 2-3 extra points here

so, for my first marking, i give a very solid 16/30, well done to sarah and captain beauregarde!*applause*
